Student Financial Services provides students/families with the necessary support needed to navigate the financial aid and billing processes. Our office uses an appointment system called QLess that allows students/families to book an appointment to discuss any questions they may have regarding financial aid options.
Here are the questions parents and family members frequently ask us:
I was admitted for the fall 2021 semester. When can I expect my financial aid offer?
Welcome to Temple! Fall 2021 admitted students that file the FAFSA begin to receive their financial aid offer information in mid-February via email. The financial aid offer itself will be located in the Costs & Aid tab of the student’s TUportal account. Please review the information regarding Understanding Your Aid Offer on our website.
What is the net price of attending Temple University?
The net price can vary depending on your major, state of residency, housing selection, etc. Use the Temple University Tuition Calculator at Bursar.temple.edu/ to estimate your costs based on your school/college (major), dorm, and meal plan. You can also add your financial aid and resources to determine the overall net price.
Estimated tuition and fees are updated to actual rates annually each year in July. Some or all instruction for all or part of the academic year may be delivered remotely. Tuition, the University Services Fee, and certain other fees are set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the academic year
I was offered financial aid, but it is not enough to cover the balance due. What do I do next?
All students should apply for scholarship opportunities within the iGrad link via the Cost and Aid tab.
Students also can explore additional loans as a way to borrow (repay later) the amount needed to attend for the year.
The additional loan options available: Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) is possible for parents interested in borrowing on behalf of their students. Parents can view details about the Parent Plus Loans via https://studentaid.gov/. Students also have the option of exploring a private loan if they wish to borrow in their own name with the help of a credit-worthy co-signer.
Loan amounts should be borrowed for the full year (fall and spring). Summer is a separate term.
