Disability Resources and Services (DRS) facilitates accessibility accommodations for students with disabilities enrolled at Temple University. Services are available at all Temple University campuses. All students, regardless of their home campus, should contact DRS on Main campus for more information.

Here are the questions parents and family members frequently ask us:
How can my student receive accessibility accommodations?
The first step is to register for disability support services through the online MyDRS portal at https://disabilityresources.temple.edu/register-drs. Once your student has registered, they will be assigned a student services coordinator who will connect with them to schedule an initial intake appointment.

Will my student have the same accommodations as they did in high school?
Not necessarily. Accommodations in college and university are often different from those provided in high school. Once registered for services, DRS staff will discuss your student’s specific disabilities and accommodations and explain what might not be reasonable to expect at university.

What kind of documentation is required to receive accommodations? Is a 504-plan or Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) enough?
DRS requires some documentation of disability from a health care provider or diagnostician. Typically, this is in addition to the 504 plan or IEP. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything on hand – have your student go ahead and register! DRS will work with you to get all the information we need to ensure that your student has access to reasonable accommodations.
